Anyone know if there's an existing thread where I could list the weights of some things I've replaced?
Searched, couldn't find one.

ahh, looks like you just did :)
List your weights, I'd like to see what you came up with...

I took the lead weights off my wheels hoping to go a little faster but the car shook so bad I had to put them back on.........:realcrazy::BangHead::rofl:

Okay, here goes:
(These are all from a 74 Dart Sport, except as noted)
-Front bumper w/ all brackets, crash absorbers and hardware 62
-Rear bumper, all stuff, as above 82
-Fenders, including headlight buckets 22 ea
-Hood (no hinges, etc.) 61
-Hood hinges, latch, hardware 10
-Door (Driver w/ mirror, no hinges, otherwise complete
with glass, regulator, etc.) has crash beam 84
-1972 Duster door, as above, no crash beam
(first year for crash beam-1973?) 73
-10" front drum brakes, everythng required (I swapped
to Wilwood, they're 39#) 80

I now have race weight fenders, hood, bumpers and Lingenfelter aluminum bumper brackets.
The seats and heater box are gone, I wish I had weighed them.

Everything was weighed on a beam type bathroom scale.

Who has weighed what? List it!

75 a body;
Dash pad. 3.65lbs
Sun visors. 1lbs each
Headliner, bows, attaching hardware. 4.76lbs
Rear bench bottom. 20lbs
Rear bench back. 16lbs
Door seals (body side) 1.5lbs combined
Steering wheel. 4.1 lbs
4dr ft. Window regulator (no handle) 2.95lbs
4dr rear window regulator ( "") 2.25 lbs

Here is my 75 Duster....

got the bathroom scale out in the garage....

Stock front disc brakes...... 78 lbs
Stock rear drum brakes 54 lbs

Total 132 lbs

Strange Front Disc Brakes.......,,,32 lbs
Strange Rear Disc Brakes 30 lbs
Total 62 lbs

Weight saving 70 lbs plus alot rotating weight

stock Front bumper 65 lbs
Bumper Shocks 21 lbs

Fiberglass bumper and aluminum brackets 4 lbs

Weight Savings 82 bs

Total weight saving so far...........152 lbs.....

then I removed more...

Hood... 40 lbs........

I did not include the weight of the hinges or hook locking crap...

weight saving on the rear bumper 80 lbs

Another 120 lbs total..

So over all the car should be lighten up over 270 lbs.....

added a few pounds with the side bars for the roll bar....

The bucket seats on my 65 Barracuda must have weighed 80 lbs a piece! I lifted one out and had to lift it back over the edge of the trunk and I think I pulled something.....

I have a 74 duster that has some lighter parts on it. I got the body with the interior already out of it. The hood bracing is taken out. Trunk lid is fibreglass as well as the front fenders. The 5 mph bumpers and shocks are replaced with 71 valiant parts. All stock type front end. Dana 60 rear. 470 stroker with alum heads and intake. Has a 14 point mild steel cage. 3100 lbs. Kim

How much did those steel fenders weigh (inner fenders too, I"m sure)? You recall ?

Fiberglass fenders were not very much lighter. Maybe 5 lbs. Inner fenders we’re already out so no idea there. I haven’t did it yet but the side glass and window hardware are very heavy. They weigh more than the door. I want to do lexan. Kim

65 Barracuda fold down rear seat: 70 lbs.

73 Duster 340 bumper inside crash beams plus bumper guards: somewhere between 45 and 50 pounds

67 Barracuda power steering gearbox and pump: 39 pounds heavier than a manual box.

Factory starter for Dakota version: 15 lbs vs. 8 lbs. (-7 lbs) Group 24 lead-acid battery for lithium: 40 lbs vs. 5 lbs. (-35 lbs). Factory glass for lexan: (same thickness) 3/16” side glass, 1/4” windshields = 50% less weight Factory 3/4” front sway bar with links etc: -10 lbs I’ve removed approx 300 lbs total from my van, the items above are about the only things that are relatable to a-body’s though

the car rolls some much easier with the strange brake...a lot less drag....

Do you know if it was worth any ET, MPH? I don't have a A/B comparison...

A spool gets some serious weight out too. like 10# or so
