74 360 4speed duster returns to family

Does anyone know if the folding rear seat was a common option in the 74 duster. I can't seem to find any info on them. Is it specified in the build sheet?

Great story! Great car! I love hearing stories like this! That is a super looking Duster you have. Fortunately (in my opinion) the mechanical stuff is the easy part, body and paint work scare me. I love the color combo on that car. Welcome from Edson Alberta!

C73 is the fender tag code for Fold-Down Rear Seat

Thanks for the post. Yes the mechanical looks like will be a lot. I had it at s mechanic shop. I am going to have to rebuild the engine and transmission. I am getting parts from Summit. They seem to be the cheapest.

If you get to Edmonton ever JB's Powercenter is way less than Summit when you factor conversion. There is a Passon performance vendor in Mission for the 4 speed stuff. I just need to think of his name. Oh yes, Brent at Gears To Go.

For those interested. I thought I would update the process of cleaning up the car. Just cleaning up the engine bay while the engine is at the machine shop. Had a bad knock so I decided to have it overhauled. We are adding some nice goodies to make it pop as well. Not going to be cheap but my Dad would sure love it!

Welcome aboard! Glad it found it's way back into your family's life.
Cool car, my 1st one was a 74 Duster. Altho no hood treatment, it did have the fold down rear seat and trunk divider.

Exciting times!

Is that the original master cylinder reservoir and brake booster? That’s in great shape and doesn’t look like it’s leaked at all.

Reservoir has been replaced but the booster is original I believe

Here is an update for those interested. The engine is out and waiting for machining and parts. I decided to make it astroker, bored 30 over, performance cam and new headers. Should be a rocker. My Dad will be smiling when it is fired up! I will post a video when it is running again.

Curious about your washer bottle. Is it a foot pump one or electric?

If electric, what's the wiper switch like? 3 positions or 4?
