So I've got a pair of ported W2 heads and an Eddy W2 Victor intake. Intake manifold is ported to match. Heads were professionally ported at some point. The heads have valves, springs, retainers and keepers.

I'm looking to sell, as I need to get some ported LA heads for my 360 I'm building.

So what do I have and what's it all worth?!

In your 3rd pic where the rocker shafts bolt down there's a hole partially cutting through the bolt hole (threads) that holds the rockers down. Do all W2 heads have that threaded hole cutting into an adjacent hole?? Thanks

Have you had them checked for cracks? What size valves?

not just a w-2 thing, I believe all LA heads have that design feature. It's just that this particular version of w-2's have rocker pedestals milled down, so it looks a little different.

I haven't had them checked. I was told they were good when pulled. I have t measured the valves yet but they look like 2.02/1.60s. I'll measure tomorrow.

Why not run the W2's?

Why not run the W2's?
Your basic answer below.
I'm looking to sell, as I need to get some ported LA heads for my 360 I'm building.
Knowing the flow numbers of the head would go a long way. Also measure the port window and cross section area. Adding a description other than “Pro Ported” would help. And as said above, the current state of the heads wellness is a plus.

I don't wanna run the W2s because I've already got my fenderwell headers, and a tunnel ram intake, both of which are for regular LA heads. Plus, I'm not trying to spend more money on rocker assembly for the W2 stuff.

I intend on getting the heads checked out and valves installed, if it doesn't put me out of my profit margin.

I'm just asking for a rough value, as I don't know where to start with pricing.

If you want to run the W 2 heads, you can get a pair of W 2 flanges & bolt them to the heads, drill & tap them to the LA header flange. Personally, that's the way I would go, provided the W 2's check out & are buildable.

They are good heads and make good power the worst part about them is the rocker arm set up or if they are long valve heads plus the header option can be expensive , if you can find someone that has everything but the heads you can prob get more $ but the only downfall is the cost for everything that goes with them to make them work great and the availability of parts that are reasonable priced so get them checked and good luck on them

Maybe $800-$1000 "as is" being numbers are unknown.

I see a " DRE"
I'm guessing D.... Racing Engines
If you can figure that out...they will have those numbers on file for the job number stamped on the heads.

The heads have also been O-ringed. Intake valves are 2.035" and exhausts are 1.60".

Ideally, I'd love to just trade for a nice pair of the INDY LAX heads. That's what I was hunting when I stumbled across these. Seems like Indy doesn't sell them anymore.

Long gone.

I paid $300 each for a set on this site.same 810 head.

Porting terrifies me, unless it comes with a pedigree. 'Pro'? I can't help but notice that if I go to Home Depot, they expect me to take a lousy parking spot in deference to 'professionals'. That's appalling in any circumstance, but especially so when I notice a 'pro' is anyone in a 18 year old truck with 5 gallon buckets in the bed and magnetic signs on the door.

Those valve guides looks a little sketchy to me, for starters.

As for having the valves installed prior to selling....that's money wasted as it adds no value for a buyer. anyone buying those heads would/should want them inspected, cleaned, and assembled by his own shop with the springs/retainers that he needs, etc.

I would guess the "D" is for Diamond. Diamond & Batten did a lot of these back in the 70's-80's.

if you want to get a good return have them flowed
me
I'd run them
flange adapter for the headers work
krooser wants to get some high ratio rockers might sell his or others?
make them work
good rockers for indy heads are not cheap + b3 kit
