D-66 questions
I found the right triangle calculator app that someone mentioned and using the measurements posted earlier, I figured that the angle on a 66 and up manifold is 8.3 degrees, and the angle on a 64-5 manifold is 17.65 degrees. That means what is needed is a 9-10 degree taper, which nobody actually makes as such, but there are sources for both round and D-shaped tapered washers at 8 degrees, or 5 degrees (use 2). Either is probably fine for what we are doing. Fat side in should compensate for any 66 and up LA manifold on early 273 heads, and swap it around with the fat side out and you should be able to put the D-64 (or any other early LA manifold) on any 66 and up small port LA motor. I'm gonna order some and see if they fit on my D-64. If somebody has 66 and up manifold they want to try on early 273 head, send me a PM and I'll mail you some to see if it works...
