Percolation? Heat soak? Don't drive during summer??

Is it all possible the water temp gauge is bad or reading wrong? Maybe the sensor is bad it placed wrong?

Idk the temp guage is brand new, but is is a cheap one. Its hooked up in my intake manifold on the opposite side from the factory sensor.
