I should of taken better pics of where some things went so now I’m at a loss. Can you tell me where does this connection go? It runs off of the lead from the firewall harness located down by the alternator. Also I can’t remember what the brackets are for? Any help appreciated.

the black? Looks like the alternator output. Hook the battery up and ground it in series with a "big" test lamp like a tail/ stop bulb. This will protect against "oops" shorts. See if that black there is hot at all times with battery connected

Well if it is a 65 mustang it might be the temp sender

But since no one here but you know what year, what car, what options it is a crap shoot

I should of stated 67 dart 383. I’ll have to check more closely tomorrow but I branches off the lead running from the firewall bulkhead connections.

With that type terminal on the end I hope it's only an electric choke voltage supply.

Yea!!!!

According to my 67 dart wiring diagram there are no orange wires in the engine harness. Also the only black wires are the Alternator feed to the car (your black wire doesn't look heavy enough but the lug does look about the right side), negative coil to dist, front headlight low beam, which should be on driver's side inner fender.

Was the car original 383? Someone may have added wires.

The location of the orange wire would be about where the temp sender on a 273 would be.

Does anyone know where the v shaped brackets go in my original post? I still can’t remember where they go?

Does anyone know where these y brackets go? I’m thinking they are for somewhere on the front bumper or grill assembly. I took these off a long time ago forgot to take pics and I can’t remember where they go?
