How are you tieing down your car in your enclosed trailer

I agree with those who said E-trac with baskets over the tires. I haul my Dart and Duster this way and have never had issues.

For what it is worth, on my spare time off from work, I help a friend with a towing business. I have maintained my class 1 license, and fill in as needed. I have hauled many highway tractors, tandems and tri-drives, on a Landall trailer which we also tie down using over the wheel straps. It is my opinion this is the only way to go.

On occasion I have cheated on rear axle, in car hauler with the Dart, due to it's skirted wheelwell. Over the tire baskets can be a bugger with limited room to work, so I've used baskets on front, combined with straps over the rear axle to the d rings. Trailer has full length E-Trac.

Using baskets over the tires also won't allow lateral movement in the event of a strap failure, very little anyway.
