Cooling fan sensor location

When I used two fans I had two variable temp relays and had them set to come on at 185 and 195 degrees. First fan came on a 185 and if the temp got to 195 the second fan would come on. If temp dropped below 195 the second fan would turn off. Don't know if this helps but it did work good.

That would have probably been the best way to go...... I didnt know they had an aftermarket variable temp sensor......
I had already set up the 2 fans independent of each other, on 2 sensors as well as AC taps the same way. For now, im going to try to stay with a sensor somewhere between the bottom of the radiator and the engine block.
I dont think the drain plug in the block is a good idea.
