Back from the paint shop

I’ve been working on this for about 7 years. I never did start a build thread, but have posted here in various threads. I replaced Quarters, Rockers, Dutchman, Trunk Floor, Wheel Tubs, Front Floor Pans, repaired the front corners of both Doors, & rear corners of front Fenders. I added USCarTool stiffening kit, & various other stuff.
I had never welded anything when I started this, so I had to buy a welder and compressor and other tools as I went. I watched YouTube videos about welding, and how to Lead seams.
You-all have helped me immensely, mostly by me searching stuff that was already covered, but sometimes I had to ask questions. Now entering the next phase, I’m sure I’ll be asking a few more as I start to putting this gihugeous puzzle back together. I upped the skill level by not labeling a damn thing as I took it apart as I didn’t intend to have it apart through 2 moves and 7 years. (Live & Learn)

I’m in the same exact boat as you. My dad left a 70 behind, along with a tube chassis and pile of miscellaneous parts. I’ve sifted through and sold what I could to get it from storage to my single car garage just this past weekend. I haven’t welded since I was 14 and am about 20 years past that now. I just bought a ton of welding supplies and hauled back some steel yesterday morning to try and build myself a legitimate work table in my limited space.

I was overwhelmed yesterday when I got back with all of it. There’s been so much to do, and I haven’t even gotten started yet. So far, all the panels you listed are looking like they need patched or replaced for me as well. Thanks for posting this! It has helped me see that it can be done! I may PM you for advice along the way if you don’t mind. Great looking car you have now!

Edit: you’re in VA too! I’m up in Fairfax / Northern VA.
