A friend of mine has a CNC machine & he's going to make me some 1/4" thick wheel spacer plates for the back of my Cuda. My question is what material would be best? Steel, stainless steel, aluminum, composite? I'm not going to put them through extreme use but I want something that will hold up. Any thoughts?

Spacers?
Just a plate with a hole in it?
I would use aluminum

A bigger concern would be ensuring the studs are long enough

2024 is a high strength aluminum, it would be a good choice for this.

I have made my thin ones from steel (i would cosider 1/4" thin) made my thicker ones from 6061 t6, i think the ones i bought (1.5") were 7075 aluminum, hard anodized.

For that thin, I would use Zinc plated steel. Is he charging you?

All the thin aftermarket ones are just cast aluminum. Seems to hold up fine. So any kind of aluminum should work.

I would like zinc plated steel as Car Nut posted. Simple and strong as hell.
