Hi everyone.

You've all no doubt seen the article in Hemmings about Dodge Main. I got to thinking, I wish I had a piece of the factory. Not a big piece, maybe a chunk of concrete, a sign pointing to the bathroom, something of that nature. I've owned 5 Valiants that were built at Dodge Main, I don't know about the 6th one(it's a 60).

Forty years later is it too late to wonder about stuff like that, or were people out looking for souvenirs as the wrecking ball swung? Of course that wouldn't have been me, I was 13 and lived far away from there.

Just a thought. Anyone have anything like this that can give me some pointers on how to find stuff?

Some of those sites, particularly Detroit and area are abandoned.

The old Fisher plant "Body by Fisher"

The buildings are abandoned.....HELP YOURSELF!! And get some stuff for all the other FABO members.:poke:

I'm pretty sure the plant was torn down and the property sold. Someone local may know. You could call Chrysler Historical Society and see if they know of anyone who saved bricks or something. Beware of fraud from placing a want ad.

Got to the original site and I'd bet if you looked hard enough you could find a piece of something laying around, get a jar full of the sand the factory sat on.

I love the AMC building. Really too bad it couldn't be repurposed, any of those buildings really.

Dodge Main is long gone and GM has a big plant over most of the property. Oddly enough that place is closed now, too, and only a few years old. Hm, anyone wonder why a new pickup costs 80K?

Thanks everyone.

I've got some small pieces of buildings/sites that are of historical importance to me.

It can be done.

If anyone has an Orlando area "Bee Line" expressway sign.....I'm interested.
