1964 Valiant "Get Runnin & Drivin"

We've been driving Vixen everywhere. The Escape just sits. lol I do notice that when we park her after being driven and go get a sammich for instance, upon restart, she spins a little more than when cool or cold. She always starts, but the warmer it is out, the longer it takes.

I did some investigating and believe it or don't, there's a company called Cool Carb Technologies - Home that makes some really neato carburetor heat shields. Two pieces of aluminum with polymer in between. They actually make one for the Ford one barrel that happens to fit the slant six perfectly. 25 bucks. I put mine on tonight. We'll see how it does. I installed mine with the thick gasket between the shield and the intake and then a thin gasket between the carburetor and shield. We'll report back on any changes.
