Finally getting my trunk hinge support repaired.

Well tomarrow, weather permitting, I'm off to the welder to get my trunk hinge supports on my 67 Dart Convertible repaired.

In the process I took the trunk lid off and took the hinges off. (Discovered you have to remove 2 screws from the tack strip as they trap the hinge on its post)

Well 53 years of opening and closing has taken its toll on the hinge.

My plan is to have some thin wall tubing welded in the hole to create a reinforced pivot point instead of the thin sheet metal hole.

I found two spacers at ACE hardware, one is solid and fits like a glove. The other is a split type and is significantly looser, but not too loose.

I'll update which spacer worked the best.16035059095313770076417534865485.jpg 16035059387495117631098109901990.jpg 1603506069790374925616531159989.jpg
