Learn something new everyday as they say. I like the first one with the "tail".

Look at the bottom of the tail.

Looks like the tooling was changed or the pic was photoshopped.

They are different emblems.
There is a Gold Barracuda out of VA that is a late 64 and it has the shorter emblem.
According to them, that was a running change in 64.
I like the 64 much better, but that is just me.
And if you look at emblems through the years, they changed the tail and size a few times.
My picture. 1964 to 1969.

I've owned my 65 Barracuda for almost 50 years but I couldn't tell you whether my Barracuda emblems have short or long tails. I removed the emblems years ago, but still have them and one day will put them back on. Now I'm gonna have to pull them out of the drawer and see which ones I have.

Edit: Short tails.

They are not interchangable either . The mounting pins are in different lacations.

To add to the confusion on these emblems at least some of the 65 short tail emblems have the same part number as the long ones. Back in 1970 I had a long tail emblem on my 64 get damaged so I took it to the Plymouth dealer and we ordered the part number that was on the back of my damaged script. When the new one came in it was the short tail version and the part number on the back of it was the same as what we ordered. As previously mentioned the pin location was different to.
