Perhaps i should have made it clear before, my 62 is a b-body. Lots more room than a early a-body! Sorry.
You are fighting putting a big motor in a small space. It can be done, but you have to be willing to move, or remove, metal. Neither of my little cars has a firewall anywhere near where it originally was, lol.
