Had an engine kick back on the run stand and it jammed my new mini starter and broke the noise piece. Is that part available anywhere??

Same happened to me. 68 Dart 440/500 TTI's, Auto. Had just painstakingly put it in. Had my Dizzy out at the time so I didn't get the Dizzy set close enough and you know the rest. Just started tearing it back down last night. I'm going to try and return it for a credit. Probably get denied.
 
My starter broke in the same place. Just bought a new one for $25 off eBay. Not worth the hassle to me to try and run down a company for a replacement snout. Plus you can use the broken one for parts for other starters.
 
Mine's not out yet so I dont know if the snout is broken or just the Bendix. I'll find out tonight.
 
Well mine is cracked . I am going to dig out an old one I have and see if it's the same housing. If not like you I will keep for parts. I dought they will warranty it.
 
I was going to throw the old heavy weight on but I think I have to tear it down though...coolant in #5. Looks like head gasket let go
 
Went through a few of them on my 440 till I had it right. No go on just the part. When you look for one make sure the nose is solid, not like the one that you have in the picture.
 
Put a remote starter button in, get your engine turning before you give it ign.
 
Bought expensive mini starter.. was junk in no time... Went to pick n pull and picked a factory one up off the ground from under a late 90's Dodge truck... $22
Took it home and cleaned it three times with WD-40 extremely well...
Never a bother since in my hi compression stroker... That Factory starter is designed different..
