340 Dart paint questions

That is not the 69 turquoise either

Here is the mopar Turquoise on this '67 383 that we painted. It's available at O'Reilly's too. Have the part number here if you need it.

My late '69 340 was always blue. The Mopar paint P4349217AB matches what was left of the original paint. It is a rather unique blue. Not turquoise. Not the industrial green they used on older big blocks. Not corporate blue. The last picture in GeorgeJets post is a very good representation of what it looks like.

My 71 Dart has a 340 and according to my paperwork the motor is a 70 motor. I don't thing Darts from 71 came with a 340 unless it was built in Canada. Anyways when the motor was built the owner at that time was trying to get as close to original as possible. The paint he used was from Summit Racing and it's called Pacific Blue.

This is the color that my engine had from the factory. It was painted with an old Mopar spray paint can, which matched the paint on the block, when i rebuilt it. I looked at Summit for the paint, and got nothing. Now, when I put in the number p4349217ab, it brought up that one, and another came up, p4120752ab. Looks to match my engine, judging by the cap. I am going to order it, even though it's only available after the Florida Mopar show. I will post back after I try it.

i would call.. he has so many different colors. when i called and asked for orange he asked 340,440 or hemi as they were all slightly different apparently. guess it depends how "correct" you want it. the mopar paints have been known to be way off with most of their colors for 30+ years ..lol

Thanks. If the paint I ordered doesn't match, I will call him.

It'll be hard to match the color, because it has faded from heat, and age. P4349217 "blue" looks like your pictures when it ages. If you plan on repainting everything, I believe it is the "correct" color. If your engine is supposed to be P4120752 "turquoise" that would be very rare for a small block. But anything is possible I guess.

The color that you suggested is not available per Summit. The one I ordered looks close in the picture, but who knows what it looks like until you spray it. I'm hoping it matches. If not, maybe the one you suggested will be available by then.
I just want whatever I get to be a close match to my engine, even if it's not completely correct.
