rear under the springs

Your going to raise the rear the thickness of the spring AND the diameter of the housing and the height of the spring perch
 
You're fixin to raise the rear of the car at least six inches.
 
It's a perfectly okay way to raise the car up for a gasser style. Lots of trucks like Rangers have the spring over. I don't know how you would equal up the front suspension tho. If you crank up the torsion bars that far, it will cause excessive negative camber and bump steer. If you leave the front lower, then that will cause excessive negative caster; but you can adjust for that.
