Used oil container

I have four metal 5 gallon lacquer thinner cans with a screw on lid and carry handle. I made a metal funnel contraption that attaches to the top bead of the can with 4 thumb screws. It has a built in old chrysler 2.2 dipstick to check the level in the 5 gallon container its attached to. The check stick has a small drill hole where the full point is in the can so I can see how full it is. After I dump the oil in just let the filter lay in there. Have a clip on the wall holding the drain pan to drip itself dry into the funnel.

Check with your citys recycle center. My city recycle center takes the waste oil, oil filters, car batteries, and used antifreeze for free. They also take the recyclable plastic oil and antifreeze containers. Theres a clipboard with a form and a pen tethered to it attached to a huge fiberglass tank for the oil, and another fiberglass tank for the antifreeze both with funnels. They take it all for free to help prevent it ending up in the local landfill. I only have to list my address and the number of quarts, gallons, filters etc that was dropped off.
