Good one Biff and so true. Sure my kids got a wallop on the backside and didn't do them any harm. They grew up respecting people and could take them anywhere.
Now's it's "Oh now it's Be Nice little Johnny" and a lot of kids don't have any respect for elders or for the authorities. Teachers getting beat up because the kids know there won't be big repercussions and if the teacher hits back they can be charged. Back in my day the principal had the strap and very versed in the operation of it. Sure straightened up the troublemakers. That was a going a little too far, I never got it, guess I was lucky LOL
