Engine Masters Episode 77 - TorqStormed Slant - Spoilers?

have a '74 225 in machine shop jail now, been there 5 months and counting. Still waiting on word as to what o/ and u/s pistons rings and bearings I am gonna need.
this engine is headed for my 85 D150. and I have been kicking the turbo idea around for a while..... debating on that, or a strong N/A build... I have a set of NOS rods, am ready to send my cam to Oregon, have 2 grinds in mind depending if I do the turbo thing or not.... I'm only looking at running 6-8 lb of boost nothing crazy if I go that way. The 360 that would have been in such a truck, was quite the pooch by the mid 80s. I'm basically hoping I can get at least the power of a stock '80s 360 out of my slant..... which is basically only what a slant was rated at, before '72..... truck is destined to be a 3 season driver.

staying with a slant because I figure the $$$ I save by not needing to trade out the existing 727 (YES it is a 727 not a 904/998.... I was surprised too!)Also I dont need to buy different mounts, or a truck oil pan/pickup, , or a V8 radiator, means that I can put more into trying to get the most power I can out of the slant....
not gonna be a race truck but if I want to pull my popup 2 states away with a bed full of firewood, Coleman camping gear, maybe a couple of pedal bikes and such, and not have to worry about it,,, I can.... and just because 90% of anyone else with this truck definitely would dump the slant for a V8...... I want different.
