What was it intended for? Street use or dragracing?
I personally was going to drive it on the street. May be too much cam for some though, depends on your preference

Is drive the street with that cam. Looking at the duration @.050 and not getting overly scientific and split hairs over the specs, this cam is in the same area as the MP 296/.557 cam. The Purple cam normally works out to be a 252@050 cam. MP suggests this cam for the 11.5 second zone. But the Hughes cam has a nice mild split duration & more lift to work really well with heads that have a really good full porting job to them. If your car is properly equipped and light weight, I don’t see a problem in obtaining low 11 second slips. Not that it is just an easy bolt in/on and run no brainer.

(Light weigh = 3K lbs. and the proper 1/4 set up in the car. High stall and gear ratio, single plane, etc....)

The duration is stout for a street cam but not a undrivable unit. It’s totally drivable. You’ll need some gear and converter though. A couple of fellas here have used that purple cam and a RPM intake to run low 11’s. IIRC, our old member UOP (?) did this with a 360 in an import car.
