Oil with ZDDP ?

-
I have a 1977 440 with flat tappet hydraulic cam is there any oil out there off the shelve with the required ZDDP to run in this engine? If not what would be a safe conventional oil and what is a good additive that I could use that is readily available again off the shelve?

Thank you in advance...
I called shell oil technical support and one of the engineers ahs confirmed that Rotella T4 has is also for older flat tappet engines with 1200 ppm ZDDP.

Thank you for all your advice was very helpful

VR-1 good deal on Amazon, the guys here usually post a link when it’s on sale. It’s usually 8$ quart at my local Autozone. 1/2 that price online

I enjoyed that STP video:thumbsup:

I prefer to use oils that have the type of additive package suitable for the application.

So, for my old school muscle, I like the Driven brand of oils.
I’ve also used Brad Penn and VR-1 with good reaults.
I haven’t used them myself, but would have no concerns running Lucas products.

I also thought the video was good, factual verifiable info,, with the exception of the lawn mower test,, not sure what he was trying to prove but a 50 50 mix of new and old STP would be so thick that it would not provide any kind of ring seal. I don't recall STP ever recommended a 100% STP Treatment fill. That scene was a little out of step with the rest of the video.

I used Driven breakin oil for cam breakin. Hughes Engines recommended the Driven Hot Rod oil w zinc for regular use. I could not get any locally and had to order from Hughes, The shipping raised the price way up. Next time I will probably go with VR-1.

I bought 4 containers of Rotella T4 on sale. It is not a synthetic blend. The T5 is, and I think there is even a T6 which is full synthetic.
