Nice acquisition & write-up! You mentioning having one back in "the day" brought to mind a friend who was a service/tech rep for Chrysler & got to drive one of W-2 Lil Red's they put out. From what he said it was not slow at all! He was an experienced driver & it was almost too much to handle!

He told me he made a few hundred $$ that night from the local Chevy/Ford guys that thought it was the normal Lil Red

ok. final update on the express truck. i sold it last week.. never advertised it but a friend tagged me in a wanted ad on facebook. i sent a few pics the guy came out to look at it. liked it and gave me good money for it so i took it. will i miss it? who knows.. just didn't have the mindset of working on it in me so it just sat. the guy bought it for his father as a surprise. the father had one back in the day but had to sell it to raise a family. they already put the exhaust on and drove it and i hear the father is like a little kid again so it went to a good home. not sure what i'll do now.. we have the dart that is running and driving better then it has in years so i can tinker with that. i may look for some modern muscle for a toy. i know i don't want a project of any sorts though. just can't be bothered with the big commitment they take. we like to go too many places and rylee has all her sports and school stuff that take up too much time for a project.. just something i can tinker with.. so for now the cutlass gained garage space.. that may be on the chopping block next..lol

Well aint this bout a *****!! I found this thread this morning, started reading top to bottom every post! really getting into your truck and story and then you drop this bombshell! Oh well great read that lasted 2 cups of coffee. Good luck with your next toy!

My brother has a 78 LRE with 30k miles on it. Bought it in 85 from original owner. At that time he would go to the local Dodge dealer and just order parts. Needless to say he has an attic full of NOS parts

yea when i had my first one back in the late 90's the local dealer could still get a ton of stuff. there was a guy in Colorado that worked for a dealer and got me all kinds of stuff that people said you couldn't find anymore.. stuff is scarce today.. though they have repopped a few things that were hard to get like the mirrors and rear bumper.

Understand your position fully, Joe. And the best news is that it went to someone who loves it, can’t ask for more than that. I’m sure something will catch your eye, maybe even while the fire is still hot and the dollar bills are still crisp!
