Of buying something I MAY need someday. Guy on Facebook says after 45 years it’s time to move on to other interests. With my kids a don’t think it would ever come to selling my stash off.

It took 2 huge dumpsters and a half dumpster to throw all my dad’s stuff out, same with my in-laws. No time for garage sales. Interesting all the junk (only valuable to the collector) we collect in a lifetime. Sell while you are still alive.

We had auction for my in-laws when they went in assisted living. Dad had music instruments, art pictures, antiques, furniture. Guitars was only thing that brought money, rest sold so didn't need dumpster. Although took about 6 pickup loads of junk to dump. My only kid daughter has dibs on our cuda,

You can always sell engine parts. I have more intake manifolds than I'll ever put on engines, but I might!

My dad was a pack rat, some good things like cameras, and HO model trains. The rest was/is garbage, flat out. He's gotten help from some people whose job I don't envy. I can now see the fireplace from the stairs if I go downstairs, something I couldn't do for almost 20 years. Because of him, my basement is almost completely empty, and will remain that way.

I always think of my dad and his pile when my mind thinks I need something. I've already given away parts I'll never use, the only thing I hang onto besides the intakes is the multiple parts I have for my project cars, I still want to have the best of what I have, to go on the car when it's being worked on. One big project I need to do is organize my parts, I have my house and my storage units to straighten out for whoever cleans up my mess when I'm gone. Car parts should be straightforward for them when the time comes. I'm youngish at 45, so I'm not planning on checking out yet, but I'd like to get that in order in the next year.
