1966 Dodge Dart Restomod
Thanks all,
Spent my first weekend fixing electrical issues.
No running lights... turned out to be bad LED bulbs, went back to 1137s and its fixed.
No rear lights, blinkers or brake lights. Turned out to be corrosion in the fuse box. 3 hrs and a needle file fixed that.
Then there was the running hot.... 220 degrees, and shutting off at idle.
It seems my dad got an idea off the interweb to pipe both breather caps to a T and connect that to the main breather. So the 360 had constant suction on both sides with no way for fresh air to get in... I didnt pick up on it right away, but knew something was wrong with the excess heat and the fact my oil turned black in 3 weeks
After thorough research, I replaced the breather cap on the passenger side with a PCV valve, piped it to the carburetor, replaced the 14 inch air cleaner, and put a fresh breather cap on the driver side. Air now flows through the engine, it runs better, never gets above 200 degrees, and idles just fine.
