This great animal has been with me for going on 13 years, boxer's don't live a long life , averaging 9 years but Buddy mad it over 12 years.
I had the vet come over and make it easy on my friend that has been doing bad for 7 months, I wouldn't and couldn't see him suffer another day.... he fell asleep in my arms couple weeks ago.

RIP my friend.

Sorry to hear that Mike. He was truly your "Buddy"

Sorry for the loss Mike. I know it sucks, we had to do the same for one of our kittys that we had for 15 years. They really become part of the family and its hard to let them go.

I hate hearing this. I know he was always by your side. I wish you and your family the best during this hard time. It's never easy letting go of a furry family member.

It hurts when they go but you did the right thing as hard as that is.

He gave you many great years of loyal companionship and you gave him a safe place and love. That’s all they ask for the much they give.

Sorry for your loss.

I feel for you, I went through the same thing in July when my Rottweiler of 13 years was diagnosed with inoperable cancer and had to be put to sleep. It was much harder than one would expect and left a mark but it was the best thing for her as she was suffering. I wasn't sure that I would get another but lo and behold I recently adopted a 15 month old German Shepherd and while I still feel sad about KC (my Rottweiler) Dakota has proven that there is always room for another.

You know how we felt about Buddy, Mike, and we know how hard it was to let him go. But in your final act of love and kindness to your friend, you did the right thing. In your heart, he will always be there by your side, and you can always see him there. RIP good boy, you did well keeping our Slater family happy and safe!

They're so loyal and get so close to our hearts.. extremely rough when one of them goes.. sorry for your loss...

Mike I sure am sorry. I did the same thing with my 16 year old cat, Stubby back in 2015. I held him as he slipped away. I still caint believe he's gone.

Very sorry for your loss. I've known some wonderful Boxers.
My two, Riley (12) and Belle (9), were supposed to belong to my wife's niece, but I became their caretaker and have never regretted it for a second. They always bring smiles and laughter. Never been through losing one yet... don't even want to think about that. They truly are man's best friend.

Mike sure am sorry to hear this and know that you did the right thing by keeping him from suffering any longer. He was a beautiful dog I am sure you will miss him for a long while, Joe

Two BEAUTIFUL pups right there.

Sorry Mike. I know its difficult. Had to put ours down in january.
It would be so much easier to find our beloved pet passed away peacefully from natural causes one morning. But like you ,i couldnt bear to let her suffer any more. RIP Buddy!

Our condolences Mike. Beautiful dog!
Heartwrenching buggers they are. Sitting, waiting "not so patiently" with me now while "Mom" is at dr appt.

It's a horrible event in a human's life in they are truly in tune with their animals. Something so pure and just wanting to be our buddy's stripped away in short time. Car guys and their love for animals goes hand in hand. The only sanity I have ever found is make a new friend because it's what we can do as animal lovers.

All things crazy in world sure means squat when you get to hang out with your best buddy..... We all need furry friends....

Sorry for your loss memike.... That's a beautiful picture of him at the Window.... RIP...

Sorry for your loss Mike. They truly are man’s best friend. They love us unconditionally. I’ve had to put some buddies down over the years. It’s 1 of the hardest things I ever had to do in my life. Kim
