I have an older Rug Doctor that I bought when one of my dogs was getting old was having accidents... I would just spot clean (Dalmatian pun) and then about every 4 weeks shampoo the whole carpets...

The newer replacement generation had a design flaw and the display models had the flex hoses already torn at the store.... I'm glad I got the older version that didn't have that flaw...
