Weight! I was watching a video yesterday on a 79 Z28 and they scanned the inner door. It said 4100 lbs. My Duster with a 360 is 3100. 1000 lb difference! A friend stopped by today in his 73 Z28 and I couldn't help but think just how much weight he has to pull with his 350 -Lead Sled...

And that's with you in it, yes?

Correct. But that was also before I got the floors replaced, painted, covered with Kilmat and carpet. So it's "a little heavier" now. I wouldn't think it's a full 100 pounds heavier, though.

Because they are cool!

The '72 and earlier are much lighter if I remember correctly

I've spent more than i should pulling weight out of mine. To bad the aluminum 8 3/4 chunks are so hard to find

The 73 and up have probably a hundred extra pounds in the bumpers alone! Those inner bracea on them 35mph bumpers are a chunk!

thay dont call them heavy chevys for nothing,..nova bout same as slowmaro,..but check the weight on a 70 big block chevelle or a caprice/impalia,..led sleds for sure!!!

The people that own them!
I have to agree! In my area of Ca. It seems the Mopar community can be very segregated.
You got the late model guys who think they’re the baddest of the bad. They won’t even make eye contact. (I think maybe it’s because even though they have 2-3x the H.P. and all the bells and whistles, they’ll never be half as cool as an pre 76 A-body)
Then you have the B and E body guys. Who are looking down their noses at the lowly A body guys. Now I know that’s not always the case. I have met (not in person) some B,C and E body guys here on this site and all have been great guys, very helpful and enjoy talking with them. I’m just talking about what I have seen locally. In fact just yesterday here in town I was completely snubbed by a guy in a Roadrunner. Made eye contact and waved at him, he just watched me drive by. Maybe he was just in awe of a beat up, clapped out big block Duster with a Tunnel Ram and 2 4’s. LOL
Then there are the A body guys. Not too many in the area that are out and about. Quite a few at the drag strips. But the guys I’ve met around are all cool, down to earth real folks. There are a couple of pristine Dusters in the area and some original owners. Very cool folks. Heck even a lot of the Ford, Chevy, Rod, and rat rod folks around here are cool and friendly.
Anyway I dig my beat up old Jalopy, It’s a hoot to drive and definitely gets some attention at the cruise ins. (Good and bad)
Just my observation and experience.
A bodies for life! :steering:

Was that GVWR listed on the door?

I hit the disagree button , they (toads), are far far uglier than the later models !

The Toads are unique, and don;t tell my wife her Toad she claims is ugly, she can get nasty fr a little woman. I also like my 62 Dart (B body yes() just a g=biiger version of the Toad Too bad it is not a MW!!
I have had plenty of friends into E nd B bodies, yes in general they can be a little different maybe. But basically good Mopar lovers.
I have had just about them all except a winged car and never wanted one but had the change to build some back in the 90's.
I even have a coupe pf F bodies I did right now in the herd, can't give them away!!! But a great group of enthusiasts the are!
