You know what makes A-bodies so great?

-
I get a different vibe from e-body people in my area. A little of the cut above, for some reason. I have a b-body now as I recently sold my a-body but I get the "wave" from any a/b body car guys that pass by. E- body guy I swear, are hit and miss with the acknowledgement of a passing motor head. My a-body 408 was a monster being so light, the torque was impressive. Someone here now owes it, and I'm sure he is pleased.

I love the looks of my super coupe-but you always get that-“did you make all those fins”? It’s a one year car so what can I expect?

I've owned A, B, C, F, K, M, B-series, D-series, etc. etc. Different bodies, same heart! A's and B's have a special place with me because of my years growing up...

E Body owners have trunk envy.

I drove my new 65 Barracuda to Meinekie muffler yesterday [tire for my wife’s car] and a 70 GTO owner went nuts over it. I drove past a 72 Chevelle SS convertible the day before and even he gave me a thumbs up. Nice cars get the respect, no matter the brand or model around here.

Weight! I was watching a video yesterday on a 79 Z28 and they scanned the inner door. It said 4100 lbs. My Duster with a 360 is 3100. 1000 lb difference! A friend stopped by today in his 73 Z28 and I couldn't help but think just how much weight he has to pull with his 350 -Lead Sled...

Actual curb weight is 3607 lbs for a '79 Z28.

thay dont call them heavy chevys for nothing,..nova bout same as slowmaro,..but check the weight on a 70 big block chevelle or a caprice/impalia,..led sleds for sure!!!

'70 Chevelle SS454 curb weight is 3836 lbs.

'70 Dart Swinger 340 is 3170 lbs

'70 Road Runner 383 is 3646 lbs

Clearly the Dart is far lighter, giving it a better power to weight ratio, coincidentally the same as a 1970 Nova SS at 3170 lbs.

All figures were result of google searches.

id say the 70 nova weight is off, same components as the camaro and 8 inches longer! specially a 70 ss, till 71 all ss cars were BB!

On a certified scale, my 73 Duster is 3180 with a full load of fuel, with my wife in it, substantially more

I'm just kidding about the E body owners. I've owned a few myself but I've also owned a Vette so I guess that makes me a prick too.

in 1971, my 70Dart 340/4speed ps, pdb, no AC, crossed the track scale at 3330, with 130 pound me in it, making it 3200 with about a half tank of gas. I guess about 3170 on "E", lol.

What makes A's great?
I could always afford one?
naw, they're just fun to rip around in especially with a small-block combo.
I almost bought a 340-E once, but I couldn't stand the sound of the slamming doors; the echo was just too much, and, compared to a Formula S, I wasn't enamored of the handling, which is what I was shopping for.
But I gotta admit, I've had a soft-spot for the looks of the AAR's, ever since high school, when the first lime-green one rolled up to the gas station I was working at. What a beauty.

I had a 76 Camaro with a 350 and a later 4 speed automatic in it. 16" IROC wheels, HD springs and sway bars, zero lightweight stuff in the car. It weighed 3680. No 70-81 Camaro or Firebird weighed 4100 lbs.

The Toads are unique, and don;t tell my wife her Toad she claims is ugly, she can get nasty fr a little woman. I also like my 62 Dart (B body yes() just a g=biiger version of the Toad Too bad it is not a MW!!
I have had plenty of friends into E nd B bodies, yes in general they can be a little different maybe. But basically good Mopar lovers.
I have had just about them all except a winged car and never wanted one but had the change to build some back in the 90's.
I even have a coupe pf F bodies I did right now in the herd, can't give them away!!! But a great group of enthusiasts the are!

You wouldn`t believe how many "agree " marks I got on this subject !
