The classic TA car that won that race was a 64 Pontiac Tempest, The Gray Ghost. Guy drove it harder in the corners.
They all take off and then I'm at past the backside straightaway at turn 9 waiting for the cars to come around the corner. We hear the car(s) and this guy comes hauling around the corner with his inside wheel almost off the ground, then the next car and pack is like 5 seconds behind him on the first lap! He continues his dominance over Barracudas, a Dart, a few Mustangs and even the favorite a yellow Z28. Kind a boring as most of these $$$ restored cars were just doing laps together but this Pancho was running balls out. There was actually a rub between 2 cars in a tight corner on the Jumbotron and the crowd went crazy, "Ooooh nooo!"
