Excess Crankcase Pressure

Maybe your CC is overfilled. If the crank is beating up the oil, yur gonna have problems.
Maybe yur trans is slipping or yur screaming down the road in second gear.
Maybe yur compression test is low because the gauge is lying.
Maybe the numbers are low because the valves need adjusting or the oil got washed off during cranking.
Maybe the numbers are low because you didn't crank long enough to get two consecutive, about same pressure, numbers.
Or maybe the cam is outta time.
Yaknow, I seen a screw-in compression gauge one time that had the wrong type Schroeder valves installed in it, and that was all it took to make a liar out of it.

The point is just because the gauge says your engine has crummy compression, doesn't make it true.
I recommend a second opinion.

Btw;
did you do anything else at or just before the intake swap, other than the swap? Like maybe an oilchange? Cuz I have seen some crappy oils in my life, that smoked pretty bad.
And oil mixed with gas, in the CC will smoke too.
