Hello everyone. I have a short pre 69 style 273 water pump in my street/racecar that start leaking. It's about 4.8" long and made of ALUMINIUM with 8 blade impeller. Need help to identify this pump. Is it an old 70s race piece?? Can't find any info.

Whats date in little circle, 60? could be a poly pump. Here is an LA MP with the same holes but lacks the castings on the bolt bosses. Both are wrong side outlet though.......

Where is it leaking from?

You might be able to rebuild it.

What is the main reason for getting an exact replacement?

It's leaking from the (pee hole) on the underside. I need the shorter pump or the fan will hit the radiator, and driver side inlet. And I'm extremely curious what this old speed part is. I have never seen any other like it.

The Milodon MIL-16251 is the same style pump. It's a Poly 318 pump.

Im not sure what it is but I've never seen an aluminum 69 and earlier left side inlet pump before. If you find out what it is and where to get one, I want one.

I think its a bit of a unicorn. I have bought rebuild kits for the cast iron style, I wonder if a kit for right side inlet would be available as the shaft and center of the pump look similar to them.

:BangHead:Crap! I broke the housing. Well this retard will be down grading to a 273 cast steel pump. But I will not rest until I find out were this pump comes from. It could be for a marine application.

I gave you the Milodon part number. Same pump but it's not aluminum.

Its broken! Oh no, now its really one of a kind.

The cast iron ones are a dime a dozen, lots of suppliers have them. The unique thing here is the one 66Signet has is aluminum. These, to the best of my knowledge, were never offered stock in any automotive application from the factory. I have been on a 20 plus year hunt for one of these and did see what appeared to be one on Ebay about 10 or more years ago but it got bid up and went pretty fast. I agree it could have been for a marine or industrial application but pretty uncommon. If anyone has any information on these these please share.
