For those of you with big blocks and front motor plates, which alternator do you run and how's it mounted? Photos would be great!! Thank you!

Thanks! Not sure it'd clear my K-member (early A-body), but definitely gives me some good ideas with spacing and whatnot.
How's that alternator keep up with your electrical load? I see a mechanical fan. Are you running an electric fuel pump, or any other accessories? Thank you.

I was looking at that mount and I think I can make it work with my motor plate. Will it work with other Denso alternators? It looks like it will if the mounts are moved up. I don't think a 55 amp alternator will cut it for me since I'll be running an electric fan, fuel pump, etc. Who knows - maybe it will?
Which alternator is that (in the second photo)?

Im running a gm 100amp one wire, hanging off the bottom of the motor plate, with a thru bolt into the lower cylinder head bolt hole. A nice solid mounting. I use a modified adjusting arm, mounted off the water pump, to set belt tension.
I use a 60 amp Denso alternator in my Duster but I don't have a motor plate in it any more. I switched over to the late model K frame with the spool mounts. I designed a low mount alternator bracket to get the alternator down in the fuel pump space. That cleans up the top of the engine and makes more room in the engine bay.

Any chance you have a picture of that setup? I was looking at the GM alternators too, but they seem pretty deep, lengthwise.

I'm sorry, i dont. Im 200 miles away from the car at the moment. But if you look at what Andy F just posted, mine looks similar to his, he made a mount off the water pump and used the lower front head bolt hole, with an adjuster off the water pump. Mine is the same, except using the motor plate.
Where did you get your alternator bracket from?
Same place most of my stuff comes from. The machine shop.
The best place if you can do it, which I can't!

i bought an are engineering bracket kit , but ended up building my own .

Is the AR Engineering kit the motorplate kit they have listed on their website? If so I'll be interested in it.

Running the same thing but down below that , all home made for 130 amp gm alternator.

Yes. I ran the sensing wire to a power stud mounted on the inner fender, to compensate for voltage drop in the output lead (instead of just treating it like a one-wire). Doesn't make much difference for a foot of heavy wire from the alt stud, but good engineering practice

It's a shame they don't have any photos of the brackets installed. That would definitely help sells more of them. Do you have to have any picture of the set-up installed?
