So after 25+ years, I sold my Dart. Ironically, the guy I bought the car from so long ago heard thru the grapevine that I might be selling and made me an offer that really surprised me so I sold it. I keep telling myself this is all for a good cause (paying off the mortgage and being 100% debt free) but I could barely sleep last night. I still have the 2011 Mustang GT CS convertible to distract me for now. We will see how long that lasts.

I made 100's of passes at KDS motorsports drag strip in Kinston, NC. Drove the car on the banking of Charlotte motor speedway and attended several Mopars at the Rock events. Sooooo many memories. Pics for Posterity.

Just do what he did to you...give him a call in a quarter of a century and buy it back

Damn, 25 years, sacrifice, surprised that Mustang ain't looking over there and feelin' sick over it.

Being mortgage free affords you some financial freedom. Save your money and buy another Mopar. BTW, it would also help to sell the Rustang! 65'

The mustang ain't so bad. I got a 2007 model GT V8 5 speed one. Fun car, drives really nice too. Still got my old MoPar Junque too. Love the mustang for what it is, and the old MoPars for what they are. Heck my buddy has a 68 Chevelle Malibu 2 door hardtop I got my eyes on. I like all american muscle cars. Nothing wrong with that. At least the OP has something fun to drive and a payed off home. I payed mine off years ago before getting back into the hobby.

I would love a Dart vert with a 4 speed but sooo expensive for a nice one
Saw one on Craigs list in the Los Angeles area. They wanted too much for it but it is claimed to be a so cal car.

and that's the problem, people want show car money for them if they are decent and the only reasonably priced cars convertibles are full of bondo.

I really enjoyed my 2013 Mustang GT 'vert, was a very comfortable car, lots of power, and good fuel economy, would run circles around the old iron, with the a/c on too! I just didn't get enough use out of it, between my work hours and having 3 large dogs, so I let it go, kinda regret it, but may get another one eventually, when and if I ever get to retire.

Similar story, had my 70 Dart for over 20 years, decided that I'd done everything I wanted to with it, hundreds of passes down the 1/4 mile, Hot Rod Power Tour long haul, plenty of day trips and car shows, and daily drove it during the summer months over several years. Just seemed like it was time for a change. Mine went to someone who had owned a nearly identical car in high school.

That one was nice. I don’t know if Ida let that one go. The rustang would be an easy choice.

I hear ya. My 2007 I bought new, special ordered car. It was a divorce gift I bought for me after the smoke cleared. It's got about 13K on the odometer. I dont have much time for it with my current wife, kids, work, and and restoring a 69 barracuda, but I uncover it for a drive every so often. Eventually the craziness will ease up as they grow up and I can enjoy taking it out more. Just like my 1994 Silverado I special ordered new, I wont sell this one either. I think the fact that my ex wife when we were married didnt want me to have it in the first place, after buying her a new chrysler sebring she wanted kinda sealed it in my mind that this what I was going to get. Challenger was not out then when i bought it. Shes been thru 2 cars since then, i still have my divorce gift i bought myself.
