I've been a member for quite some time but rarely go there any more. Well I just wondered over there, FOR THE LAST TIME! The ad pop ups drove me nuts! couldn't take it. I just deleted it from my book marks.
 
Sadly I agree. I have been a member since 1993 and I can remember when there were new posts almost ever few minutes. The sight with those pop ups and it makes the page move are so annoying. I check in once a week now and notice new posts are pretty few.
 
Yeah they shot themselves in the foot with the ad pop ups. I understand it takes money to keep these sites up and running. If they needed member money I would have paid just like on here, I have no problem paying the Gold membership. Even if it has to increase.
 
Yep got to have Adblocker to go on there now. Tom the owner has taken a good thing drove it into the ground and he is losing members by the bucket loads.
 
I haven't been there in about 8 years, I was banned & I couldn't find out why. The only reason I could think of at the time was because I disagreed with one of the oldest members.

I will never go back. Some of you know how opinionated I am, and sometimes it's not really intentional. But I'm not puttin up with the crap over there.

I got the adblocker and started going back...

... but now the adblocker is not working with a new pop up.:BangHead:
 
Adblock Plus works great for me using Firefox. I have noticed slower traffic for sure on Moparts. I sure hope this site doesn't meet the same demise. Kinda reminds me of what happened to BBD back in the day. That site used to be great.
 
My Adblocker works real good with Chrome otherwise I would not go on there anymore. Can't get it work on my phone so don't go there on my phone.
I've been on there for around 20 years and like it because they deal with all Mopars which I have. There are still some good people on there. I met Tom the owner at Carlisle a few years ago and all I'll say is I was not impressed. Like I said before he is losing long time members over is greed. I do like Joey's sites. Here, FBBO and Trucks Only. I wish Trucks Only had more action though.
 
its like they have the im to good to help you attitude.and i dont need that.the web is full of great people that take interest and are willing to help others.moparts is not one of them,if you are not in thier click then its like too bad
 
I agree Roy. I hardly ever go over there anymore. Shame too I've bought a lot of part's off there. Even a nice '69 Valiant about 10 years ago.
 
I hate it now. I look at the classifieds about once a week, and that is only if one of my sons or I really need something. Those ads are TERRIBLE!!! Small doses are all I can take.
 
I've been a Moparts member since 1997. What was once the best Mopar site on the internet is now an advertising agency. :BangHead: I can tolerate the ads for a few minutes to go thru and catch up, but I don't spend a fraction of the time there that I used to. Another thing that kind of took the wind out of my sails there was when Stu (MidPenMopar) died. R.I.P. Stu. :(
 
Is there a reason you guys don't just install an ad blocker?

Is that even an option for those of you who use you phone to access these sites?

I did and it worked for one pop up

Then another pop up by “Purple Plus” started and my Adblock Plus doesn’t work on it.
 
Yes, Moparts has been going downhill for quite some time. Yes you can use an AdBlocoker but it doesn’t take long for it to bypass the blocker. I started as a member in the mid 90s the hung in there in early 2000s when Tom went to new servers. Most if not all of the old timers have left or are seldom on there.

For the first time the Secret Santa is not being run. Nobody stepped up to run it. I agree that Tom sold out to the high tech devils. He could of petitioned the membership to go along with an annual fee but chose not to do so. I guess all good things come to an end.
 
I do like the cleanliness and easiness to view topics (when no pop-up Ads) of Moparts.

There are 33 separate discussion forums here on FABO. That all but requires you to view the site by selecting the “Recent Post” button. That’s what I do here. And many others.

And that is why people complain about the For Sale spamming. Because when they are hitting the “Recent Post” button, for sale post show also.

I have like the biggest piece crap HP computer on the planet with Chrome and I haven't had any problems with Adblocker since I installed it a couple years ago.
 
My ad block plus worked great till it didn’t on my iPhone. Tech has almost become non existent as when you post pictures they end up sideways most of the time. For some reason my ad blocker works on my desktop. Hmmm. And yes I uninstalled it and tried that too on my phone.
 
I do see a bunch of pop ups here too especially when looking at the forum on my phone.
As far as an ad block and "why should that be up to you" (or me)
That should be up to the server!it would certainly be a member draw!
