Installed my back seat and base fits nice, the top portion is tight on passenger side and a 2" + gap on drivers side. Wrong upper or if I move it over is it suppose to have a an approx 1" gap on either side? There was no tonneau rail on the top section, making me believe it is the wrong upper?
Thanks in advance

I can get you some dimensions tomarrow night.

67 dart convertible.

My frame measures:
44 1/4” top and 46 1 1/4” bottom
I have a little more space on passenger side but never really noticed it as boot slides in between seat and rear panel so you do need a little room there. I would think you could adjust if needed.

Awesome thanks. I'll measure mine tomorrow and take pictures, My spacing is a lot more than that, but I believe I can split the difference.

After looking at it today it doesn’t seem quite so bad I think I just need to move it over here are some pics.

Just noticed on your seat back that the stitch lines don't line up with the seat bottom on the driver's side, that and the fact that the dust cover rail is not on it and I assume no holes thru the vinyl where it mounts, leads me to believe that it is not a convertible seat back.

There may be a metal tag on the seat frame with a part number.

If you remove the seat back take some photos of the back of it and post.

Also if the seat back got bent to more of a curve then it is supposed to have it might produce the same effect you see.

What year car is your photos? The 67-69 OEM boot is not supposed to go between the seat and side. And there are no snaps on the inside where I see one on yours, that I have ever seen.

Dana,

I suspect the same thing, no rail or holes for one. I'm changing the seat color to white and I have a convertible seat upstairs, I'll put the new material on the seats upstairs. I'm guessing this is a coupe seat? Thanks

I have a 69 GT. Assumed boot was original...? As you can see- it slides nicely between seat and back panel and snaps securely with 2 snaps on each side. One on top of panel and one on side of panel.

Maybe they changed the design from 67, this is the original, cover one family car.

Mine has a hook device on the inside and hooks into the metal rails of the top.

I forced the cover around the outside and could snap the snaps but the hook and the seat side are so tight there would be wear marks. (There are none)

That's what our original '68 boot looks like. I don't think the design changed for '69, but I'm not positive.

Thanks for sharing pics... thought mine was original!? Never knew this.
The one I have actually fits very tight and secure- and I really like the way it wraps around back panel.
Looking at different pics online- it looks like there are some different variations out there.
Eventually will need new one when I put on new top... Looks like I will need to delete the one snap if I buy re-pop or have to have one made.

This is in the 67 dart sales book.

Note at least in 67 it does not go over the side plastic between the seat
