What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
I completely agree that its a good problem to have, hopefully I can get everything done before I am done.

Pipe dreaming a 160mph uphill front straight at Road America top speed . In a F8 green metallic '69 Dart . . . Hmmmmm
Maybe a white stripe for the high speed impression . Maybe good for 3-5mph .
Change gears to pipe dreaming the body and paint work .

That sounds very ominous!

Its not, I just meant that I am 60 now, I have to finish at least the 71 charger and my 70 Roadrunner (jury still out on the 69 Cuda).

IMO car builds come down to 2 things; time and money. Presently I am semi retired so time is not a issue, however because I am semi retired money is. So this means that I have to wait until I can afford whatever it is that I need until I can find the money and at 60 time is becoming a commodity in short supply.

I'm 71 and in good health. I hope to keep working on my Dart for a while. My goal??? Finish before my kids take away my driver's license! :D

Played with some tape.... Wife asked "So... How'd we do? Are you happy with the results?" Pfft she didn't even help... and there is a problem with paint on one of the bezels... idk what happened.

I'm pretty happy with how everything turned out. Now I just need one of those fancy GTS badges.... oh I need to install them too.

Buff the drips off the polished spots to clean up the lines And your good to go.

Do you have a extra bezel? Either side? I'll do one for you. No charge.

No I don't. I only had these on my car. Do one for me, trying to show me how its done from afar huh? Lol. I think these will be good until I buy repops or find some others in a junkyard

They look nice. Don't get me wrong. It would have been a nice winter project. That's all. :)

Don't you have lots of winter projects on your car? Shoot you should be sending me stuff to do for you so you can get that baby driving. :steering:

I do think I need to work on my patience with small tideous projects though, my instant gratification needs. Long periods of not getting to drive mine kill me.

I have tons of stuff left on my car to do.
But their are outside jobs. And inside jobs. That's a snowy inside job. If you fine a spare one? My offer stands. Hell see if a member here will part with one. For free. Cough Cough. Lol

Ah yes, I forget you have snow there... we have summer, hot as balls outside, so stay inside jobs here... it usually involves not going outside for fear of melting haha.

i might pull the locking hubs of the plow truck and give them a good once over, so i can actually engage them when need be

never mind, i pulled one off and the center is corroded through
no point in servicing something with a hole that will let snow and crud in

i guess a new set is in order

anyone ever hear of AVM lock hubs?

Got the trans, clutch, pressure plate, flywheel and bell housing out. Brought the trans to a friends shop to be gone through. Trans works great just leaks so I'm hoping just new bearings seals and gaskets will do the trick. So much old caked on crap on the engine and trans and since I have it this apart I'm going to do a rear main seal and new pan gasket since everything is soaked. Hoping to make it presentable with a degreasing and maybe find if there is still anything leaking. No oil was hitting the ground but its all over the place. Whoever owned the car before I did just let it leak and never addressed the issue. After I clean it all up and get the seal and HV oil pump in I can start reassembly. Got the flywheel cut today and received my new trans mount and Mccleod Street Pro clutch kit so it won't be long before I am putting her back together. Pretty productive day off today and I got one tomorrow too.
