Knocking 340

-
So, I had the 340 looked over by the same well respected Mopar Engine builder that built the engine back in 2012. His opinion, (without fully stripping it down) is there is evidence of light damage on a couple of Lifters and Push Rods these same lifters/push-rods had a poor leak down test, so he thinks maybe their valves are a touch bent. Ive now got the 340 back at my place and will replace the lifters and rods when I get the time and have a look at the valves. The heads are a little crusty so will lap the valves in again.

The bores look almost freshly built as well.

Its been build with some nice parts. Ive listed what I can do on a word doc. Would anyone be willing to take a guess at the HP/torque it would make?

The highlights are;

Hughes Engines

COMP Cams 20-309-4: Magnum Muscle Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshaft Chrysler 273-360ci 1964-00 Lift: .464"/.464" | JEGS (268AH-10)

Keith Black/KB Pistons KB243-040 Keith Black KB Performance Pistons | Summit Racing

It will have either a Weiand Action+ Intake and a Holley 770 Street Avenger. Or Ive got an Edelbrock Performer intake.

Ignition is the full Rev-N-Nator package.

The Rev-n-nator, the revinater, the revonator and R/T Garage - Mopar Restoration and Performance Services in Belle Plaine, MN

Many thanks,

Andy

you should be around the 400 mark plus or minus 20 -30 for tq and hp . what heads are you using ?
one thing it take a long time to get those rockers lined up and set properly , i had to have a few custom shims made to get things right ,they work well have had no problems in over 8,000 miles , just tore down the engine and there is no wear on then=m they look new

Ohhh, that would be nice! Stock X Heads.

I might send the engine back to him to set up correctly then, then get put on the Dyno for tuning etc. Wont be the first half of next year as I have way to much on my plate just now. There is shims already installed so I guess they can be used again?
