Hey guys, hope evryone is doing well. So its been about a year since i parked my car becuase money ran out for her after this pandemic hit but i decided to get back to wrenching on the ol valiant becuase its therapeutic and i miss it. I decided im gonna try to run the engine and i wanna get it sounding good and healthy again just to make sure she dont rust up inside and just to hear it run, i already rebuilt and cleaned up the carb and i plan to drain the old gas and fillerup with some fresh stuff (maybe actually install the sender i bought for it last year) was wondering what else i should do to get it pepped up and running again. Adjust valves? Maybe oil change? Give a young guy some pointers make sure i dont break it lol.

You should always start with a basic tune-up. Cap, rotor, wires, plugs, filters (air, oil, gas). Set the timing andadjust the valves once it's running.

I would also drop and clean the fuel tank if it's been sitting a long time and replace the filler grommet and fuel hoses.
