today, on crackheadslist...a duster

I actually like the car. That hood is a very nice touch. Never seen a challenger hood (style) on an abody i kinda like it. The interior is meh! I'm not a fan of custom clusters and modern seats! The price tag is way far fetched. Lol

I always ask "could you build one just like it for that price?"

I have my doubts.

Only worth what someone is willing to pay. Not bad looking but would change a few things to my liking.

That’s a lot of money but it does look like a pretty serious build. Probably a ton of labor hours in it.

I am quite sure he spent more than that to build it . Doesnt mean he will recoup his money .
Put a 10k paint job and a turbo on a Yugo doesnt make it a 10 grand Yugo .

Labor of love....

Dam I love that hood, looks really good on it. Overall it looks great, I bet he gets close to asking as some fool will pony up that much cash!

I'll grant you that it is a very nice car, and the owner likely has over $78K in it. However, on 'custom' cars like that, you rarely get your money back. The owner could get lucky and find a buyer who really liked it and ponies up the money, but I doubt it. I see cars like this go in the 40s at BJ all the time.

Modern seats don't look right, agreed, but the bolster is needed on a good handling car.

Agreed. I always get a kick out of sellers when they say " I have more into it than that" Like it's my fault they made a poor financial decision.

Yea thats just part of the hobby you're always gonna have more in it that its worth. I quit keeping up with how much is in mine lol

Yup. "What you have in it" has absolutely nothing to do with "what it sells for". I remember years ago, YearOne had a list of items that were worth nothing at the time of a sale. It was a kind of "Be careful" message regarding car restoration costs. I think it was in the very front of their catalogs. I couldn't find it on their web site. But labor, parts you had in it, all that kind of stuff was there, and they are right. None of that has a thing to do with how much a car is worth. It's simply worth what someone is willing to pay.
