Curious how much hp a stock 904 handle has a reverse manual body in it
Also would like to know what the stock drive shaft can handle

Until it breaks! LMAO It all depends on the internals of the transmission & how hard you are going to hammer it. Personally, I would use an aftermarket driveshaft. I know I do in my bracket car with 408 stroker, 904, rmvb, trans brake, & 5,000 dynamic converter on 29.5 x 10.5 slicks. SWAG on the 408 is 5-550 hp, I did crack the snout on one converter & dynamic made good on it.

Quality parts and a GOOD converter it'll take a lot of abuse..stock driveshaft not so much snapped the rear yoke and twisted mine, that's when I upgraded to a 3" custom w/1350 yokes:thumbsup::thumbsup:

You should read up on drive shaft critical speed.I think there is a chart about it on mark Williams site.I have to admit i had no idea.

with a light car on street tires and stock suspension you are probably good to go.
you might not break parts until you start hooking with a heavy ride.

My stock 904 (means all stock including VB) with the factory stock converter has been taking "occasional" abuse from a mild 360 in a A-body running 13's (now very low 13's) for the past few years with 2.45 gears and now 2.94 gears. Weight of vehicle, gears, and tire size makes a big difference on the life of the tranny as well. Same with DS.
