Hey all,

here's an old picture of 1969 Barracuda Rag Top that someone's contacted me about. He's looking to see where it is now and if its still alive. He owned it 30 years ago. There's an almost 50% chance thats its one of the 2 that came back to the US.

Theres a guy here in Virginia who is redoing a 69 RHD vert. Might be the one. I sold him some sheetmetal.

Yep the guy who has the 67 RHD vert said it was sold new in the US apparently to a Rural Route Postal carrier. In the USA rural route postal carriers use their own vehicles, so they purchase vehicles that are available with RHD or LHD-RHD dual control conversions which are ghastly looking so the can obey our road rules and be close to the mail boxes on the road shoulder. I almost bought brand new a dirt cheap jeep wrangler 4.0 5 speed copper color with black top RHD that was on the dealers lot that they only wanted 13K for, because for some reason or another whoever ordered it decided to refuse it. Dealer was stuck with it. I test drove it couldent get used to clutching and shifting with my left hand, and being on the opposite side of the vehicle while driving it. Otherwise I would have bought it. It was a hell of a deal for someone.

Welcome to our world driving LHD cars here in the UK :D In fact its only in the last few years that these RHD Mopars have not been looked down as a poor mans American Muscle Car. (although the 318 is certainly not Muscle, but you catch my drift. :) )

With work, living in Norway for years and vacations I find I can slip back and fourth between LHD and RHD cars and driving on the left and driving on the right no problem.

Oh, found another almost unique car that Id love to buy as a daily driver! A RHD Chevy Surburban, but built in Mexico for the Aussie Market and is RHD! Its re-badged as a Holden Suburban. Less than 800 where built before production stopped. This one was shipped over to the UK new and is less than 30 minutes drive from me. I can get it for under $3000.

Usually late model RHD vehicles command a premium because there is a market in those postal employees mentioned above, and they can generally afford them.

Yep. I bought a NOS factory GM chevy grille for my 94 silverado. It's still in its box for now. I rebuilt a set of those quad sealed beams that are on the Holden suburban. Those were only on the American Silverado pickup from 1988-1989 . After that American high end Silverados got the composite lights. The quad ones I rebuilt were pretty rough since they were offered only in 1988-1989. Required 2 sets out of the junkyard to build 1 good useable set. The Holden Suburban grille is same as 1994-1999 American Silverado. I assembled the leftovers and sold them as parts. Heres pix. One set was what I dissassembled and restored. They will go on after truck gets repainted. If you get the suburban, join the www.GMT400.com forum. It's set up just like the format in Fabo. I am on there as moparmat2000 as well.
