Restored car pet peeves

Some guys get wigged out at an aftermarket battery, battery cables with replacement terminals on the end.....I am guilty of that too.
How about when a chassis is just bombed with black paint? Several components are actually left natural and unpainted. Steering linkage, transmission cases, shift linkages, etc.
I've heard conflicting info on power steering boxes. I thought they were left natural but many claim they were painted black. Same goes for the 8 3/4" 3rd members. I clean mine and spray them a cast iron gray regardless of what is right.
