Black M Code GTS at Mecum

I was cringing watching him wash that car. He asks if there is a wrong way to wash a car. Yeah, don't use a sponge, it will scratch paint, particularly black paint. I also don't like dumping water down old cars. It gets in the crevices and stays wet. That car was clean enough he could have used a microfiber cloth and a spray on lubricant.

Another guy brainwashed by the expensive car wash hucksters. A sponge like that will not scratch your paint, it's not like it's a kitchen sponge with a scrubber. If you leave a bunch of dirt in the water bucket you're dipping the sponge in that might scratch your paint, but let's be real, it will take DECADES to wear your paint down like that. Water? Oh god. It's not a sugar cube. That car has seen less water than 99.9% of cars it's age. And he's in SoCal, the humidity is probably 9%, it won't stay wet.

Besides, I'm sure Jack Black can afford to have it repainted every few years if he so chooses. Yeah, yeah, insert pitiful whining about it being the original paint here. If someone was actually driving the damn thing it would have needed a couple re-paints by now, time to catch it up.

If you spend more money on wax than gasoline you're part of the problem.
