Hi all,

I just bought a set of bows for my Demon in anticipation of installing the new headliner I got from Legendary. This is my first headliner install and I need to know whether the rear window and/or windshield need to be removed. Any tips and tricks are appreciated as well.

Thanks!

Glass doesn’t have to be removed, but it will make your life a whole lot easier it’s not easy trying to stretch front to back with the glass in because you really can’t get any leverage pulling it from inside the car. Also if the glass hasn’t been out for awhile ( or never ) be prepared to what you might find underneath and try not to mangle the trim

Ditto to above reply. I bought the typical plastic scraper set to help tuck the headliner around the "teeth". This was a B body, but the A is similar, often the teeth are punched into the body close to the glass reveal. The repo material is not exactly cloth, and can tear with too much pressure.

You will need the wire clips for the rear bow and the sail panels for the rear roof. all 4 windows should be out. stretch it front pulling on the rear wire clips and then to the sides. . Then stretch it rearward. Do not only rely on the teeth contact cement should also be used. I have done several without a crease or wrinkle.

After installing the insulation prefit the bows . On a 71 which is different then a 70 there is three holes per side per bow. install the bows separately and see what holes make the bows just fit snug but still allow movement front to rear without tearing the insulation . Mark the holes that are used and then install the bows in the liner for installation. reinstall the bows into the holes you marked .

The wire clips must be used or you will never stretch the liner in place correctly. If you need pics of the wires and installed on the bows I can install one in a shell here and take a pic. 70 dusters have clips on the sides and do not have the 90 degree bends on the ends as the 71's . Also there is a 6 bow and a 5 bow liner used the correct one
