Wiper motors on 67-68 barracudas
I have two parts cars, ones a 67 with a 225/6 and the other is a 68 318 small block car. The wiper motor on the 67 is configured like a later abody 3 speed wiper motor with the motor unit aligned roughly parallel with the firewall (see attached pic). The car I'm building is a 68 car that I'm upgrading with a 383 six pack. I've been told that if I would like to use a six pack air cleaner (the repops that came on the N95 code roadrunners) on the car I'm building, that I may have clearance issues with the air cleaner and should opt for a 3 speed wiper motor to alleviate this problem. I assume the reason for this is that the standard 2speed motor extends out more into the engine bay, while the 3 speed motor is angled away from the engine bay and lies flatter against the firewall. Instead of paying the $400+ people want for the 3 speed units, could I use the wiper motor from my 67 parts car on my 68 instead? And if so, is there anyone who rebuilds these motors? Appreciate any insight you folks may have on this.
