Does anyone make an off the shelf 1 7/8" header for a RB in a A-Body (67-76)? or a 1 7/8" step to 2"

I have a RB in my 71 Demon and it has 2 inch TTI's. I'd go with the 1 3/4. You'll have more room..As TTI doesn't make an 1 7/8. I'd go with the 1 3/4. The 2 inch are very tight in an A body.

I have used both. Currently have 1 3/4" and sold the 2" as they were miserable to work with. They fit great once one, but man I hated those things. I think the 1 3/4" could be hurting my combo some so was trying to find something a little bigger. May just have to make a set myself, but not sure if I have the patience for that.

Is it primarily a street car?

I went with the 2 inch because I have a fairly healthy 440. If the car was street driven mostly I'd have gone with the 1 3/4..

Even if the 1 3/4" primary tube is less than ideal, it can support a lot of horsepower. How fast are you now and what does the car weigh? It might be easier to find the power somewhere else.

Been mid 10's at 3150 lbs.

I have the old CPPA 2 inch headers and they are a pita to install. Once in they clear everything pretty good. Need to put the drivers side in first. My engine is a 470 low deck stroker with raised exhaust port Stage 6 heads. Kim

The National Hemi Owners Association at one one time had access to 2" under chasis headers from Positive Performance Headers. The owner of PPH passed away and someone purchased his company. The headers require the water pump engine mounts. They will not work with stock mounts. My car was the original jig for these headers. In the mid 80's the NHOA purchased 100 sets

No love for the Pro Parts 2” headers?

I have a couple of customers with them...... they didn’t seem to have any real complaints.

I had them in 2 inch on a 70 duster 440. There a good durable header as they were on for more than 30 years. Once on their easy to remove and install. Kim

I've got a 440 in my 69' Cuda and was happy for many many years with my 2" hooker fenderwells but the biggest sacrifice was front tire size. Just got talked and talked myself into the chassis exit 1 3/4 TTI's just so I could get a bigger front tire. Got rid of the KH brakes and upgraded to the later Single piston jobbers.. Just mocked it up this wknd and phew its a tight one.

I would love to try a set of proparts, but they are now 2" to 2 1/8". Just to big for my combo. I'm pretty sure they didn't used to be that large, but finding a used set in darn near impossible.
