Tunnel ram Tuesday!!!...

No, I had that very base and sold it. In fact, if you go back and look at the pictures of the TR with the black/red QF Brawlers on it you’ll see the base I had.
Is the mopar LA tunnel ram any good? I found a brand-new and the guy is asking $400. I had the mopar m1 on my 440. But I have never messed with one on a small block

That’s an Edelbrock base. The one MS has is an Offenhauser base.

I learned last week Offy is still in business and if I have that TR, I can get the parts for it I want.

Maybe by the summer or close to then, I'll have a tunnel ram, I'll have to weld one up but I wouldn't have it any other way. Might be ugly since I'm still teaching myself how to tig weld

Was gonna put this on my 340 but went with a single carb and M1

Got told on my other car that I didn't need a tunnel ram and changed and lost 3 tenths .
When I first started on this forum back in 14 the entire forum wanted to tar and feather me for even thinking of putting a dual quad tunnel ram on a stockish 318 with a purple performance cam.. I think 484 lift... Dropped a full second in the quarter mile... (Well it was really because of this or that was what everyone said...)
... Still on the car and loving it.....

I have a mopar 280 474 cam I plan on using on my next 360 budget engine. Maybe I could round up a tunnel ram too. :)

Damn good cam, 1 of my favorites
Right now I have a fresh bottom with speedpro 405s im thinking about using that 280mp cam and a set of speedmaster heads get it around 9:1 should be a fun little small block. I don't want to derail this thread when I get closer to building it I will start a new thread

Get a tunnel ram and be part of the thread!....

Yes, i heard all the BS old tales, they are totally non streetable, soft on the bottom end, load up in traffic, low on torque. Non of this was true in my experience. cold start i give it one full throttle pump then hit the button. Fires right up and practically idles on its own. Once warmed up idle at 13.5-14.0 on the wideband, cruises at 14.5. Plugs stay clean and is so streetable most wouldn't believe it. No hiccups or stumbles on full throttle jabs. I run 2 small 750 BLP/Thumpercarbs on a 511.
