I'm tired of ridding the unpredictable lows of my job. So I've been job hunting.

I got offered a position as a turbine technician by GE. The job description says I will be in charge of a certain area so my drive time is pretty much set which I like.

Can anybody share their experience in that field? Both good and bad. And more importantly whats the room for growth like if any? I'm teachable and drive towards learning anything that pertains to any job I do no matter how big or small. I always carry a tally book with me to jot down notes and advice when I'm in the field.

man, i was gonna tell you a TON of stuff on windmills
(i know a little about them, being Dutch and all)

then i realized, you're not looking to become a miller

carry on

Might wanna keep in mind that they do kinda sway in the wind too. They're built to do so.
I was operating the temporary manlift on the launch mount tower, the big red one.

It would get to swayin in the wind.
Lady Air Force Captain wants a ride to the top to catch the rest of her group.
We get to the top, she takes one step out of the elevator car, turns and says "Is this thing moving?"
"Oh yeah" I says "If you fix your eyes on a stationary object on the ground you can really see how much it moves"
"Take me to the ground!" she says as she rushes back into the elevator.
